Brittany Knox - call her what you want, the problem child, the Pop Princess or nothing at all. We know her all as the generic Britney Spears-esque character that has gone through a chain of media scrutiny. Over the next few months Knox has gone through another “chain” of changes. She has rode on the fact that she is a different artist, that she has been inspired on a different level than she previously was with the promotion and release of her new album, and a lot of her fans want answers, want to find out what was going on in her mind, how it came about, and to recent events concerning her new single, new E.P, and other endeavors. This is “Late Night With Jake Wilson” featuring special guest Brittany Knoxville..

UserPostedImage

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome, Brittany Knox

And with a smile on her face Knox walked out from backstage looking stunning with her blonde locks flowing behind her. She walks onto the stage as the crowd is cheering walking up to Jake, giving him a huge in the process.

Jake: Please take a seat, it's great to have you here as my very first guest

Brittany smiled, taking a seat on the very plush white cushion couches

Brittany: That is just wonderful, I'm happy to be the first guest, and I hopefully wont be the last!

Jake: Yeah fingers crossed. It's been an eventfull year to say the least, you've been a massive success but you've not really been welcomed to the music industry with open arms, why do think people haven't really taken to you?

Brittany sighs with a sarcastic, but truthful smile

Brittany: I mean, people got the wrong perception of me. I even got the wrong perception of myself. I came in this thinking being pretty, knowing how to dance and sing would kind of get by with the industry and the fans. I was wrong. I had alot on my hands during that time, I really didn't have a boss to point me in the right direction or tell me what was "right" I kinda went off on with what I thought was right.

She sighs once more

Brittany: Like I previously, I'm a girl from Cali, Growing up in Cali the type of music we followed was the sex kittens, and the club banger making artists... so it only makes sense that since I've grown up in that era, I would go in the direction of that type of music. So thats what I did, it was amazing and overwhelming that so many people were excited and believed in me... I thought, great, this is good. I must be doing the right thing, I'm doing it the sexy way, the way I know of it.. making my music club music... they love it. I made a mistake. But I'm young and I really didn't know...

Jake: Do you think you can get people back on board with what your now doing as an artist, I'd imagine you can't please all the people all the time?

Brittany laughs a bit sitting back

Brittany: I'd really hope that it does. I love what I do and its not just for everyone that's listening, its for me also. I'm not going to release any more music if it doesn't appeal to me first. I want people to really listen and feel my emotion in my songs and for the new material, everything falls into that category. I cant please everyone but that doesn't mean I cant try right?

She smiles laughing a bit

Brittany: This musical art I put together will appeal alot more to people than Mannequin because the material has more depth, a real meaning with each and every song and I went with my less is more theory which is the less vocal help, and generated riffs to more vocals and instruments incorporated with the songs.

Jake: I think you've definitely won some people over, you've worked with some incredible people as well, Miss Vanity and even that was criticized to some extent, what was it like working with Miss Vanity?

Brittany: It was an amazing experience! Even before I began to make music, I loved Miss Vanity and I would have never thought I'd end up working with such an inspirational singer. What I really liked about working with her is that, she had patience with me and she really kinda made me feel like she was my mentor, as if I was to look up to her and she really, really helped me out with my craft and delivery on the song. She gave me some more knowledge as well. In the end.. the criticism came but Miss Vanity and I still thought it was a great single and it did quite well too.

Jake: You must have thought, woah is she human, she seems pretty weird, I love her and all but she's a little freaky?

The blonde laughs at Jake's comment

Brittany: Yanno somethin'? It crossed my mind here and there but one thing I can say about that is she's able to distinguish and separate herself from a large batch of pop artists. At the end of the day, there will always be 'Miss Vanity' based on her style and arsenal of CRAZY outfits and not just the rest.

Brit giggles once more

Jake: Is there anyone in particular who you'd love to work with, for me as an actor it's De Niro. Who would be on your dream collaboration list?

Brittany: I'd love to work with Ryan Ross Hernandez - such a great act and quite under rated, Stacey Walton who is huge at the moment and others like Michelle Green and Sara Daniels. There's just so much acts out there, the list will go on and on.

Brittany smiles

Brittany: I love Robert De'Niro by the way . I'm a big comedy fan and he stole me away with Meet The Parents. Such a versatile actor. Just thought I could say that

She giggles a bit

Jake: Oh yeah without doubt a great actor, I mean, Oh sorry I digress. There's been a massive amount of female solo artists out there, Stacey, Sara, Michelle who you mentioned, then there's the stars like Stephanie Fierce, Miss Vanity, Tisha and so many more, do you feel like your all in competition with each other?

Brittany: I wouldn't say competition, its a quite friendly spirit among the girls, I'd say, we will support each other but we are keeping an eye out on each of our work put out you know? Anywhere where there is a group of people, you'll feel a competitive spirit, with us females we support each other but we are also watching each other in a way. Ones that are so highly accomplished like Miss Vanity, Fierce, and Jackson pretty much separate themselves form us from their success and aren't included. We look up to them so I don't look at them as competition I look at them as big footsteps that the new generation have to fill because they paved a way for us.

Jake: I was hoping for a different answer if I'm honest. I know you've worked very hard on your EP and you've had a good friend of mine, Danny Allen produce it, what did he bring to the table and did you work well together because I know he can be a bit of a perfectionist?

Brittany: Hehehe, what, you expected me to be like I hate those b*tches! Nope, I'm a pretty down to earth person

She laughs

Brittany: And YES, very true about Danny, and that's why I love him. We weren't leaving that studio until our work was done, it had to be perfect. Thats why I really embraced the time I had with him while working on the tracks. He's great at what he does and he took my vision and mixed his with it and I feel like we struck gold with the material, we worked really well with each other because I like a challenge and I was pushed to the limit with him. Among the producers on my E.P, Danny stood out the most because he's truly gifted.

Jake: Ok and finally, it wouldn't be a proper interview if I didn't ask about your private life. Are you dating, is their anyone in the industry who your attracted to?

Brittany laughs

Brittany: No one in mind, completely single, I just think a few guys are cute like Matt Urie, but I've never really gotten a chance to meet him. Were both way too busy!

Brittany grins a bit

Brittany: You know Jake, I got a surprise in store for you, and the fans....

Jake: Oh really, I like suprises, well apart from unwelcome suprise I got one night in bangkok but that's a story for another day. What have you got in store for us.

Brittany, almost hysterically laughing stops and looks at Jake

Brittany: You are ONE jokestar, remember "your the breast" huh? I gotta get you back for that! And Trust me I don't think your unwelcome surprise is suitable for television eh?

Brittany lightly laughs ones more

Brittany: Well the surprise I got in store is the revealing of my E.P - right here on this very show!!

The crowd claps in excitement

Jake: Oh really, well I've got to be careful then, I'm excited, let's see it.

Brittany: Everyone, without no further or do.. my album artwork for my E.P titled - 'Halfway There'

On the behind the two a photo pops up, Brittany has a smile on her face

The audience begins to applaud

Jake: Ladies and Gents please show your appreciation to the beautiful and talented Miss Brittany Knoxville.

Jake hugs Brittany and gives her a kiss on the cheek.

END.

Thanks to C4AJohn for taking part in this as well

Miss Vanity: You know how highly I think of you and I still think that despite criticism, our collaboration was an amazing pop song. I love how you ignore every fucking hater and just keep on, that's the key to success, amazing interview.

"Huh? What? Underrated? Jeez, you give an abysmal Rolling Stone interview and have to take a eight month hiatus from the spotlight and all of a sudden everyone forgets how successful you are as both a musician and actor. Ah, nah, I'm not gonna eat you alive kid, since you're young and came up at a time when I was away, but I'm sort-of a veteran you could say, even though I've only been around for 5 years or so. I came up around the same time Stephanie F. and Miss Vanity were coming up too, I believe even a bit before Steph. I think if you ask anyone who has been around for a while they would say I'm overrated not under. I've been too successful to even be considered underrated if you ask me, and I'm saying that as honest as possible. But glad to hear that the younger musicians are actually listening to my blues/pop/rock/soul-influenced music, a sign that not everything is lost in the world. Thank you for saying you'd want to work with me someday, although I've somewhat closed the book on collaborations at the moment. But one day, I'm sure it could happen.

On a side-note, you look extremely alike a ex-girlfriend I once had. Pun-intended.

Gotta disagree with you on that one. Would an underrated act be called the greatest bluesman of the modern times and influence bands and artists of different genres? Would an underrated act receive praise from other great artists such as Miss Vanity, Stephanie Fierce, Mind, etc.? I think not.. Well, on the positive side, you are freaking hot!

Ronny: I like where this is going. Mannequin was an album I both loved and hated. I loved it cause it showed so well how fucked up the music buisness, especially the pop, has become. And I hated it for pretty much the same reason. That on the other hand wouldn't speak much of Brittanys talent. My earlier impression has been that there's something there, but someone else is forming it for her. I've waited for this bird to try her own wings, cause I think she can give more than that. I hope this is what I've waited for and I'm more curiouse about what we'll get to see in the future. Keep doing what you like, in your way.

*giggles* @ the interview being more about Ryan Ross Hernandez than about Brittany Knox. That itself should tell you he isn't underrated. - Linda Fea
